Williams County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 37,102, and was estimated to be 36,549 in 2025.

History

The county was created on April 1, 1820 and later organized on February 2, 1824. It is named for David Williams, one of the captors of John André in the American Revolutionary War.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.57%) is water. It is the 53rd largest county in Ohio by total area.
