Towner is a city in and the county seat of McHenry County, North Dakota. The population was 479 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Minot Metropolitan Statistical Area. Towner was founded in 1886.
History
Towner sprang up in 1886 with the arrival of the Great Northern Railway into the area. It was named for rancher O. M. Towner.
