Taunton is a city in Lyon County, Minnesota, United States. As of the 2020 census, Taunton had a population of 136.

History

Taunton was platted in 1886 by the railroad. It was named after Taunton, Massachusetts. Taunton was incorporated in 1900.

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 139 people, 68 households, and 35 families residing in the city. The population density was . There were 78 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the city was 100.0% White.

The average household size was 2.04 and the average family size was 2.71.

The median age in the city was 42.2 years. 23.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.2% were from 25 to 44; 28.1% were from 45 to 64; and 18% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 45.3% male and 54.7% female.
