Swanton is a village in the town of Swanton in Franklin County, Vermont, United States. It is sometimes called Swanton Village to distinguish it from the surrounding town of the same name. The population was 2,328 at the 2020 census. It was founded in 1888.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,548 people, 1,031 households, and 680 families residing in the village. The population density was 3,358.3 people per square mile (1,294.5/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 1,064 housing units at an average density of 1,402.4/sq&nbsp;mi (540.5/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the village was 91.25% White, 0.35% Black or African American, 4.32% Native American, 0.98% Asian, 0.27% from other races, and 2.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.55% of the population.
