Smithfield is a village in Gosper County, Nebraska, United States. It is part of the Lexington, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, Smithfield had a population of 60.
History
Smithfield was platted in 1890 in a field formerly owned by Elbert and Nancy Smith.
Smithfield was a shipping point on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
