Sheridan is a village in Montcalm County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 692 at the 2020 census,

Geography

Sheridan is in southern Montcalm County, along state highway M-66, which leads north to Stanton, the county seat. Greenville, the largest city in the county, is to the west-southwest.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Sheridan has a total area of , of which are land and , or 5.00%, are water.

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 649 people, 277 households, and 186 families residing in the village. The population density was . There were 308 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the village was 95.2% White, 0.6% African American, 1.8% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.7% of the population.

There were 277 households, of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.8% were married couples living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 32.9% were non-families. 28.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.83.

The median age in the village was 41.9 years. 23.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.2% were from 25 to 44; 25.9% were from 45 to 64; and 20.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 46.1% male and 53.9% female.
