Schongau () is a municipality in the district of Hochdorf in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland.

Schongau is located in the Seetal valley.
The municipality has an area of . Of this area, 70.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 26.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 3.5% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.1%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
