Rock Island was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,076 at the 2000 census. It is now a neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale.

As of the 2000 census, 96.52% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.88% of the population.
