Pinckney is a village in Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,415 at the 2020 census. The village is located within Putnam Township.
Among the first American pioneers in the area around Pinckney were William Kirkland and his family, who moved from New York in the late 1820s. Kirkland named the community after his brother, Charles Pinckney Kirkland. Platted in 1837, Pinckney was incorporated as a village in 1883.

As of the 2020 census, Pinckney had a population of 2,415. The median age was 39.1 years. 21.7% of residents were under the age of 18 and 15.4% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.7 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 92.3 males age 18 and over.
97.2% of residents lived in urban areas, while 2.8% lived in rural areas.
There were 921 households in Pinckney, of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 52.1% were married-couple households, 16.4% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 23.6% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 24.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. of 2010, there were 2,427 people, 869 households, and 648 families living in the village. The population density was . There were 927 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the village was 97.9% White, 0.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.3% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8% of the population.
There were 869 households, of which 45.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 13.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.4% were non-families. 21.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.25.
The median age in the village was 34.1 years. 31.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 31.3% were from 25 to 44; 23.6% were from 45 to 64; and 7.4% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 49.0% male and 51.0% female.
