Montgomery County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 620,443, and was estimated to be 781,194 in 2025. Montgomery County is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan statistical area.
History
The county was created by an act of the Congress of the Republic of Texas on December 14, 1837, and is named for the town of Montgomery.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which (3.22%) are covered by water. It is the 65th largest county in Texas by total area.
