Kingston is a city in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States, located along the North Fork of the Crow River. The population was 184 at the 2020 census. A post office was established at Kingston in 1857 and remained in operation until 1907. On March 12, 2013, a special election was held regarding the dissolution of Kingston. With 23 votes in favor of dissolution and 36 votes against dissolution, the petition for dissolution was rendered not effective.

Geography

Kingston is in northeastern Meeker County. Minnesota State Highway 15 runs along the western border of the community, leading north to Kimball and south the same distance to Dassel. Litchfield, the Meeker county seat, is to the southwest.

As of the census of 2010, there were 161 people, 61 households, and 42 families residing in the city. The population density was . There were 70 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the city was 96.9% White, 0.6% Native American, 0.6% Asian, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.9% of the population.

There were 61 households, of which 36.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 31.1% were non-families. 21.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.64 and the average family size was 3.10.

The median age in the city was 30.4 years. 29.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.2% were from 25 to 44; 22.3% were from 45 to 64; and 11.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 55.3% male and 44.7% female.
