Ibrahim Mirza (Timurid)

Mirza Ibrahim (1440–1459) was a Timurid ruler of Herat in the fifteenth century. He was the son of Ala al-Dawla Mirza, a great-grandson of Timur.

Ibrahim came to power in Herat in the aftermath of the death of Abul-Qasim Babur Mirza. Babur's son Mirza Shah Mahmud had succeeded him but, as he was still a boy, his hold on power was weak. Ibrahim overthrew Shah Mahmud weeks after Babur's death and therefore became the ruler of Khurasan.

Following the defeat of Shah Mahmud, Wajih al-Din Isma'il joined forces with Mirza Ibrahim, but was later imprisoned and tortured to death.
