Hayesville is a village in Vermillion Township, Ashland County, Ohio, United States. The population was 447 at the 2020 census.
History
Lemuel Boulter was the original owner of the land that the village of Hayesville was formed. Boulter sold his interest in the land to Linus Hayes. The first settlers came to the Hayesville area in 1817. A post office for the settlers was established in 1827 at Hayes Cross Roads. Hayesville was laid out in Vermillion Township and plots were recorded in Mansfield, Ohio on October 26, 1830. The village was named after Linus Hayes, proprietor. Hayes Cross Roads was later renamed Hayesville. The village of Hayesville was incorporated in 1849.

As of the census of 2010, there were 448 people, 184 households, and 135 families living in the village. The population density was . There were 192 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the village was 98.4% White, 0.2% Asian, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.4% of the population.
There were 184 households, of which 31.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 26.6% were non-families. 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.84.
The median age in the village was 42.8 years. 23.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.2% were from 25 to 44; 27.9% were from 45 to 64; and 17.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 52.2% male and 47.8% female.
