Gagetown is a village in Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, Gagetown had a population of 321. It is located in the northeastern corner of Elmwood Township.

Gagetown is northeast of the Saginaw metropolitan area as well as the city of Caro.

History

Gagetown began around a mill founded by Joseph Gage in 1869. The village was platted in 1871 and incorporated in 1887.

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 388 people, 150 households, and 107 families residing in the village. The population density was . There were 171 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the village was 97.7% White, 1.0% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.1% of the population.

There were 150 households, of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.7% were married couples living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 28.7% were non-families. 26.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.06.

The median age in the village was 38.2 years. 27.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 10.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.6% were from 25 to 44; 24.2% were from 45 to 64; and 15.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 50.8% male and 49.2% female.
