Esoteric (broadly meaning 'known only by a small number of people' or, by extension, 'highly mystical or theoretical', more loosely 'impractical, over-complicated', also 'clandestine, secretive'), most often refers to any of several traditions of esoterica<!--which redirects here--> or esotericism – occult spiritual beliefs and practices.
