Elizabethtown is a town in Sand Creek Township, Bartholomew County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It was named for Elizabeth Branham, the wife of the founder. The post office at Elizabethtown has been in operation since 1844.
In 1871, Elizabethtown was incorporated as a town.

As of the census of 2010, there were 504 people, 174 households, and 131 families living in the town. The population density was . There were 198 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the town was 91.1% White, 1.0% African American, 7.1% from other races, and 0.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.5% of the population.
There were 174 households, of which 47.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 16.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 24.7% were non-families. 21.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.26.
The median age in the town was 31.4 years. 30.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 11% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.5% were from 25 to 44; 23.9% were from 45 to 64; and 8.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 49.2% male and 50.8% female.

As of the census also in 2015, Elizabethtown volunteers completed a six sigma project and won a tornado warning siren grant In 2017, Elizabethtown won a community cross roads grant.
