David Thomas McLaughlin (March 16, 1932 – August 25, 2004) was the 14th President of Dartmouth College, 1981–1987. McLaughlin also served as chief executive officer of Orion Safety Products from 1988 to December 31, 2000. He was chairman of the Aspen Institute from 1987 to 1988 and its president and chief executive officer from 1988 to 1997. He served as chairman and chief executive officer of Toro Company from 1977 to 1981, after serving in various management positions at Toro Company since 1970. He also served as a director of Infininity Broadcasting Corporation until the Infinity merger.

Education

McLaughlin earned his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1954 and his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business in 1955. As a Dartmouth undergraduate, McLaughlin was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and various student organizations such as Green Key, Palaeopitus, Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and Casque and Gauntlet.
