Byron is a city in Olmsted County, Minnesota, United States. About 10 miles west of the city of Rochester and 6 miles east of the city of Kasson on U.S. Route 14. It is surrounded by Kalmar Township. The population was 6,312 at the 2020 census, and was estimated at 6,809 in 2024. A post office called Byron has been in operation since 1868. by George W. Van Dusen which he named after his birthplace of Byron, New York. Byron was incorporated on February 12, 1873.
