Butler is a town in Day County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 4 at the 2020 census. Butler ties with Verdon and Lowry as the second least populous municipality in South Dakota.
History
Butler was laid out in 1887, and named in honor of Harrison Butler, the original owner of the site.
