Boxholm is a city in Grant Township, Boone County, Iowa, United States. The population was 181 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Boone, Iowa Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is a part of the larger Ames-Boone, Iowa Combined Statistical Area.

History

Boxholm was platted in 1900. The town takes its name from Boxholm, in Sweden, the native home of its first postmaster, John B. Anderson. The first town council was elected in August 1913, and the town was incorporated one month later. In 1963, the town celebrated its Golden Anniversary and the total attendance was estimated at over 1,200 people.
